Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, due to a back spasm that he suffered in the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney in January

The International Cricket Council announced the schedule for the warm-up matches of the upcoming Champions Trophy. Pakistan named their A squad to face three teams. Afghanistan is the only team to play twice.

India are in Group A and will begin their Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh on 20 February before taking on Pakistan three days later and then New Zealand on 2 March

The elite one-day international (ODI) tournament’s last winners, Pakistan, are playing host to their first ICC event since the 50-over World Cup in 1996. The world’s top eight men’s teams will compete in the 19-day tournament (February 19 until March 9), which will also see archrivals Pakistan and India face-off in the group stage.

India’s updated squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakaravarthy.

While the latest scan, which Bumrah underwent in Bengaluru over the weekend, did not reveal anything untoward, it is learned he is not entirely ready to return to bowling yet

Further, the BCCI replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal with Varun Chakravarthy in the Champions Trophy squad. The board has also named three non-traveling substitutes: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube.
