Earlier today, Microsoft revealed that a new version of Copilot app for Windows 11 is now rolling out in PCs enrolled in every channel in the Windows Insider Preview Program. And that suggests that this updated app will hit stable sooner rather than later. Like within the next few weeks.

After launching a new Copilot app for Mac last week, Windows is now getting the same treatment with a new native app experience.

Of course, activating Windows 11 in a less-than-legitimate way is nothing new. And the script that Copilot provides instructions for isn’t even a new one—it’s been around for a few years. However, the fact that Microsoft hasn’t created some kind of safety net to keep Copilot from talking people through the exact process is kind of crazy.

A Redditor asked Microsoft’s Copilot if there was a script to activate Windows 11, and the Copilot outlined the instructions. The Copilot AI guided the Redditor through step-by-step instructions on illegally activating Windows copies using the Microsoft Activation Scripts.

Apparently, Microsoft’s AI assistant Copilot may have been a little too helpful in some cases. Last week, Neowin reported that Copilot was showing users how to activate pirated copies of Windows 11 using third-party scripts.
