Lawmakers are working to make changes to an amendment passed by voters in 2020, forcing a minimum wage increase of $1 per year through 2026. The amendment to Senate Bill 676 would have minimum wage in Florida up to $13 an hour by September 2026, and to $10.98 cents an hour for employees who receive tips as part of their jobs.

Businesses would be able to pay workers involved in, say, apprenticeships less than minimum wage under a bill that cleared a Senate panel Monday.
