USA TODAY College Sports Wire on MSNSophie Cunningham fined again after latest WNBA officiating critique
Sophie Cunningham simply can't catch a break. On Tuesday, the Indiana Fever guard not only learned of her season-ending MCL tear, but she was also fined again by the WNBA as a result of her latest comments on WNBA officiating.
Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham called "bulls--t" on the idea that the team or WNBA is being purposefully deceptive over the injury to star Caitlin Clark.
Cunningham was injured in the second quarter when Sun guard Bria Hartley fell and made contact with her leg as she fell to the court after firing off a pass in the paint. Cunningham immediately grabbed her leg and fell to the court while screaming in pain before having to be helped to the back by the trainers.
