Following the blockbuster Mitch Marner trade with Auston Matthews’ Toronto Maple Leafs, the Vegas Golden Knights have initiated extension talks with key star center, aiming to cement their championship core.

The deal materialized after days of speculation about a trade involving Marner’s rights and after multiple previous failed attempts.

The Vegas Golden Knights have reportedly acquired Mitch Marner in a sign-and-trade with Toronto Maple Leafs and are giving the 28-year-old two-time All-Star an eight-year contract worth $96 million.
