I was the first Black female pilot in the US Air Force, and captained a commercial jet for 30 years. Some people still questioned if I was qualified to fly.

She traded her pilot uniform for a magenta suit Saturday to host “Sky Queens,” a luncheon celebrating women in aviation for Women’s History Month at the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale.
