( NewsNation) — Two people have died after falling from a glacier in southeastern Alaska within a matter of days. The deaths of Arizona resident Thomas Casey, 69, and an unnamed Italian citizen were announced by the Alaska Department of Public Safety, State Troopers this week.

The Italian man was on Mendenhall Glacier, near Juneau, when he fell into a stream and went into the 2-foot-wide hole in the ice, officials said.
