Traffic backups along Interstate 77 in Wythe County are improving. According to Virginia 511, traffic backups in the northbound lanes near mile marker 26 are now one mile.

Crews are scheduled to close lanes on Interstate 77 near Lake Norman next week to begin building a massive new 10-lane bridge over the highway. Two lanes will close for good.
