Team India faces a huge setback with Jasprit Bumrah being forced to miss the Champions Trophy due to a back injury.

India pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming Champions Trophy because of a lower-back injury.

India cricket have suffered a major injury blow ahead of the Champions Trophy with fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah ruled out with a lower back issue. Bumrah picked up the problem towards the end of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia in January and has not recovered sufficiently to play any part in the upcoming tournament.

The BCCI is set to determine the availability of Jasprit Bumrah for the Champions Trophy 2025. After undergoing a scan, his fitness remains a concern following an injury in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

This is not the first ICC event that Bumrah will be missing due to injury. The fast bowler was also sidelined for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia after undergoing back surgery.

Bumrah, who sustained a back injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, was recommended a five-week rest, as confirmed by chief selector Ajit Agarkar.

Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the Champions Trophy earlier this week, with Harshit Rana replacing the pacer.

Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back spasm he suffered in Australia in the fifth Test in Sydney. Bumrah was replaced by Harshit Rana.

Ajit Agarkar had hoped that Jasprit Bumrah would be ready against England starting with the third ODI after his injury. But the fast bowler was unable to recover in time
