SpaceX closed a troubled but instructive chapter in its Starship rocket program Monday with a near-perfect test flight that carried the stainless steel spacecraft halfway around the world from South Texas to the Indian Ocean.
In an 11th successful Starship launch and splashdown, SpaceX inched closer to many of its longterm goals on the Moon and Mars.
Monday’s flight featured a successful deployment of simulated Starlink satellites. SpaceX will now move on to testing a more powerful version 3 of its giant rocket.
