Mitsubishi Electric says its new technology will allow elevators in the Shanghai Tower, under construction, to travel some 40 mph.

Builders of the 2,073-foot Shanghai Tower have announced a partnership with Mitsubishi to outfit the skyscraper with a 40 mph elevator.

The Shanghai Tower in China, installed by Mitsubishi Electric in early July of 2016, was originally announced as the world’s fastest elevator on Dec. 1, 2016, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.
