President Donald Trump is due to announce Monday that chip giant Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plans to invest $100 billion in the United States, according to a person familiar with the plans who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Taiwanese chip giant TSMC announced at the White House Monday that it will invest an additional $100 billion in the U.S. for three new advanced semiconductor manufacturing plants, a new infusion on top of the manufacturer’s existing plans.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is expected to announce a $100 billion investment in the U.S. at the White House that would bring more semiconductor manufacturing to the country.
