I've been a fan of AMD's CPUs for some time, but I've never made the move over to its graphics cards. With Nvidia being the market leader, some system requirements don't even list its competitors, and this has led me to (perhaps unfairly) looking over them in favour of Nvidia.

In a post on X, the folks at Hardware Unboxed claim that if the Radeon RX 9070 XT sells out shortly after launch, it would mean that retailers sold more 9070 XT cards than the entirely of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 50 series lineup.

But now, the wait is over. AMD has officially announced the MSRP of their latest mid-range GPUs. The RX 9070 and the 9070XT will launch on March 6th at $549 and $599 respectively. The pricing positions the GPUs close to the RX7900XT and the 7900XTX, which are quite a bit more expensive than these new releases.

When it comes to power usage, AMD says the RX 9070 XT has a TBP of 304 W with a recommended PSU wattage of 750 W, while the RX 9070 has a mere 220 W TBP with a 650 W power supply recommendation. Those are some impressively low power figures, particularly given the performance claims.

According to numbers shared by UNIKO’s Hardware on X (formerly Twitter), the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is experiencing significantly higher sales in China compared to its non-XT version.
