Training camp is officially over for the Chicago Bears. Their final preseason game is on Friday at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Bears will take on the Kansas City Chiefs. After that, all NFL teams must begin making roster cuts to get down to the regular season limit of 53 players.

Caleb Williams, Bears Starters To Play In Preseason Finale

The Chicago Bears and backup quarterback Tyson Bagent have agreed on a two-year contract extension that keeps him with the team through the 2027 campaign.

"My dad, he’s my right hand man, and he didn’t have running water until he was in high school,” Bagent told reporters.

Running back Royce Freeman is the newest member of the Bears. The Bears announced Freeman's signing on Wednesday. Running back Deion Hankins was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Freeman last saw regular season action with the Rams in 2023 when he ran 77 times for 319 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games.

The Bears are looking for more help at running back as they recently worked out 3 players at the position, according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson.

Tyson Bagent’s contract extension wasn’t the only transaction the Chicago Bears announced today. After a successful tryout on Tuesday, the Bears have signed running back Royce Freeman, and in a corresponding roster move have placed rookie UDFA running back Deion Hankins on injured reserve.
