The deaths of a man and a woman who died in a fiery explosion at a New Jersey home over the weekend have been ruled a murder-suicide.

In an update on Monday morning, investigators said a deadly house fire was likely not caused by an explosion, and the blasts that neighbors heard may have happened after the fire had already begun.

The Washington Township Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls at 2:02 a.m. Sunday reporting a loud explosion and fire in the area of Tranquility Court and Orion Way, according to a statement issued by police.
