That Should Be Illegal' - Amon-Ra St. Brown Voices Frustration Over Tee Higgins Getting Franchise Tagged Again By Cincinnati Bengals
Earlier this week, the Cincinnati Bengals used the franchise tag on Higgins, locking him in for a one-year deal worth $26.2 million should he and the team be unable to come to terms on an extended deal before the summer’s deadline.
Wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown, who earned a long-term contract extension with the Lions last offseason, was beside himself on the latest St. Brown Bros. podcast. He could not believe that Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins was franchise-tagged for the second straight season.
But St. Brown gains new practice competition should the Lions take Thomas at No. 28 overall on April 24. St. Brown gets a more imposing CB to work against during training camp then game week practices. This becomes a new "iron sharpens iron" scenario for St. Brown.
St. Brown and the Lions will meet up with Samuel in 2025. The NFC runner-up Commanders are on Detroit's schedule for the upcoming season, which will be a rematch of the Lions' stunning loss in the NFC Divisional round. St. Brown and his team will be the designated visitors for that contest.
