Carter was in the first group of players to speak with reporters at the NFL's annual scouting combine in Indianapolis, and he wasted no time declaring himself the top player in the 2025 draft class.

ESPN ranks Carter as the draft's best overall prospect, and NFL general managers are fighting over Carter. Though he wouldn't tip his hand, Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said Carter is in play to be their No. 1 overall pick. Carter has met with the Titans this week.

Carter, the former La Salle College High School and Penn State star, believes he's the best player in the country. As such, he's extremely unlikely to be able to keep rooting for the Eagles.

The Rams have given the quarterback permission to talk to other teams about a trade as he looks for someone offering the new contract that the Rams appear to be hesitant to give him.

Joe Schoen wasn’t kidding about “swinging” for a quarterback. The Giants met with Rams QB Matthew Stafford‘s representatives on Tuesday here in Indianapolis at the NFL combine, according to a source.

The Rams have given Stafford permission to speak with other teams and assess his value before they determine how they will proceed. He is due to make $26 million this season.
