U.S. stock indexes ended mixed after Nvidia, Palantir and other superstar stocks pared most of their steep losses from the morning.

Wall Street is edging lower on Tuesday following drops for Palantir and other stars that had been riding the mania surrounding artificial-intelligence technology.

Citron Research published a scathing report on Palantir, saying that even if the defense name traded at $40 — 75 percent below current levels — it would still be “expensive” relative to history.
