Ono announced on May 4 he was taking the University of Florida president's job later this summer. He explained his decision in an Inside Higher Education column.

Santa J. Ono might have been at the University of Michigan for a good time, but not a long time. It remains to be seen whether or not Ono's tenure leading U-M will continue, but the University of Florida is reportedly making a move to lure away President Ono from his post in Ann Arbor.
