SpaceX closed a troubled but instructive chapter in its Starship rocket program Monday with a near-perfect test flight that carried the stainless steel spacecraft halfway around the world from South Texas to the Indian Ocean.

SpaceX on Monday night sent Starship’s current configuration on one last test flight, in a mission that the company says hit all its key goals, moving the program into its next phase.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 will rise from Launch Complex 40 along a northeasterly trajectory, then deploy 28 Starlink broadband satellites into low-Earth orbit.

Space Coast Office of Tourism data shows overnight visitors who primarily travel to Brevard County to see a launch spend an average of $231 per day.
