A small plane crashed Thursday morning in Mesquite, killing one person, according to Mesquite Fire Department. Mesquite police and fire responded to the crash, located in the area of East Cartwright Road and Lawson Road.

One person died in a small plane crash near the Mesquite Airport in Dallas County Thursday morning, officials said. The crash occurred about a mile from the Mesquite Airport in a wooded area near a creek around 7:45 a.m, said Travis Block, a spokesperson for the Mesquite Fire Department.
