The lucky lottery player, identified as Paul Corcoran of Fitchburg, said he mistakenly purchased one of the tickets.

Paul Corcoran, a Fitchburg resident, bought two separate Powerball tickets for the July 9 drawing that each won $1 million before taxes. The first was bought at a Fitchburg Market Basket, and the second came from Country Farms on North Main Street in Leominster.

The winning $1 million ticket was sold at Village Knoll Deli & Spirits on West Main Street in Millbury. Overall, at least 458 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Wednesday, including seven in Springfield, 11 in Worcester and 60 in Boston.
