Snoop Dogg says he’s “ditching” the streaming service for blockchain-powered competitor Tune.fm, where he’s exclusively released a new single. Snoop Dogg and the self-described “decentralized music streaming platform” just recently reached out with word of the move.

The rapper recently criticized Spotify, claiming he received less than $45,000 for over one billion streams on the platform.

Snoop Dogg has partnered with Tune.FM, signaling a potential shift from traditional streaming platforms due to a dispute with Spotify over royalty payments. The rapper plans to migrate his catalog to Tune.FM, expressing dissatisfaction with Spotify's payment structure.

After crossing the 1 billion mark, Snoop Dogg revealed his supposed shocking payout. However, yesterday (February 27), a representative for Spotify finally came out to address Snoop’s claim that he only received $45,000 for one billion streams. In a statement to TMZ, the spokesperson said:

Spotify has refuted claims from the West Coast rapper, where he alleges being paid $45,000 from one billion streams.
