WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Qatar, Egypt and the U.S. presented Israel and Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas with an updated Gaza ceasefire proposal on Wednesday, Axios reported on Thursday, citing two sources.

Talks for a two-month truce in Gaza appear to have stalled, with disagreements over aid distribution and unresolved questions about a permanent cessation of hostilities.

Also in Gaza, at least 19 Palestinians were killed during a stampede at a food distribution center run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Palestinians trying to get aid were crushed and suffocated.
