The mayoral hopeful told donors that the president will be instrumental in his campaign to beat Zohran Mamdani.
Andrew M. Cuomo, who trails in the polls for New York City mayor, is said to have told a crowd of donors that he believed President Trump would help smooth his path to victory.
Cuomo was hosted at the home of Jewish media executive Jimmy Finkelstein in Southampton. Also co-hosting was Finkelstein’s brother, Andrew Stein, former New York City Council President and a longtime friend of Trump who has briefed the president on Cuomo’s chances of beating Mamdani, according to The New York Times.
"Andrew Cuomo is not only a loser -- he is a sore loser -- which is worse, and nobody likes a sore loser, the public-safety advocacy group Protect the Protectors says in its calls to 75,000 Big Apple voters.
Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic mayoral nominee, said that while he still had doubts about city casinos, he respected the views of voters who supported them.
