An Illinois landlord found guilty of a vicious hate crime that left a 6-year-old Muslim boy dead and wounded his mother days after the start of the war in Gaza in 2023 was due in court Friday for sentencing.

Joseph Czuba was sentenced on Friday to 30 years behind bars for the racially motivated killing of a 6-year-old Palestinian American boy, whom he fatally stabbed days after the Israel-Hamas war erupted in 2023.

An Illinois landlord who stabbed his 6-year-old Palestinian-American tenant soon after the Oct. 7 attacks was sentenced to more than half a century of imprisonment on Friday.
