Two-time Wimbledon finalist Ons Jabeur has announced she is taking a “step back” from professional tennis. The 30-year-old Tunisian, who is the first African and Arab woman to reach a Grand Slam singles final, was in tears as she retired from her first-round match at Wimbledon this year.

Ons Jabeur is taking a hiatus from the women’s tennis tour, with the three-time major runner-up saying she wants to “rediscover the joy of simply living.”
