The murder trial for a woman accused of killing a retired University of Hawaii professor has begun in Samoa.

Honolulu’s prosecutor said no charges will be filed against the officer who killed an armed suspect in Waianae Valley last year.

Officer Mousa Kawas was overcome with emotion as he detailed what happened the night of the shooting.
