The Cleveland Guardians made an unexpected decision on Steven Kwan before Friday’s game against the Athletics.

Steven Kwan showcased his unique skillset with a game-tying RBI single in the 9th inning, proving why he's becoming a perennial All-Star candidate in the AL.

The Cleveland Guardians' lone player actually playing in the All-Star Game came up in the most pivotal spot Tuesday night. The American League had the tying run on third base with two outs in the top of the ninth inning. Dominant Mets closer Edwin Diaz was on the mound.

Kwan will get an extra day of rest coming out of the All-Star break, missing the starting nine Friday for the first time since June 11. Nolan Jones will bat fifth and patrol left field while Kwan takes a seat on the bench.
