A man is in the Box Elder County Jail, accused of shooting at officers in Tremonton Sunday night, killing two and injuring another and his police dog.

Two police officers were fatally shot and one deputy was wounded following an incident in Tremonton, Utah, according to police. An officer with the Tremonton Garland Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a home late Sunday night, Aug. 17, according to a news release from the Brigham Police Department obtained by USA TODAY.

Two police officers killed in the line of duty Sunday evening were honored Monday with a procession to escort their bodies to the medical examiner's office and then back home to northern Utah.
