Chernivtsi (Ukrainian: Чернівці, pronounced [tʃerniu̯ˈtsi] ⓘ; Romanian: Cernăuți, pronounced [tʃernəˈutsʲ] ⓘ; see also other names) is a city in southwestern Ukraine on the upper course of the Prut River.
