An attempted carjacking escalated to a police shooting over the weekend. Police say it started Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex near Decatur and Flamingo. Police say a suspect identified through booking records as Wade Griffith was allegedly trying to carjack someone and threatening them with a knife. Police say Griffith refused to comply with officers and pulled the knife on them as they were trying to take him into custody. That's when police say they opened fire. Police said on Sunday

A local family is advocating for road safety improvements following the tragic death of their loved one, Jon Silk, who was killed while attempting to cross Nellis Blvd. Metro police reported that the 35-year-old was struck by a truck just before 6 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities confirmed that Silk was not in a crosswalk at the time, and the driver remained at the scene, cooperating with the investigation. Britney Silk, standing alongside her brother Richard, expressed the family's grief. "It's just
