Two wild elephants had been swept nearly 8 kilometers into the Indian Ocean, caught in powerful currents while attempting to cross shallow lagoons along the eastern coastline. Spotted by a Sri Lanka Navy patrol near Round Island, the exhausted elephants were struggling to stay above the surface. Responding immediately, the Navy dispatched a team of divers, fast attack craft, and wildlife of
