Taxi Driver is grit carved into a character study, the kind of film that doesn’t try to be clean, it tries to be honest. The movie drops you into 1970s New York, a city that feels alive but rotting around the edges — rainy nights, grim sidewalks, blinking marquees, late-shift diners, sirens as background ambience.
